About Us

Hello, we are Eben and Melinda!

And we are happy you found our virtual home on the internet! We’re always going somewhere and love to share information about our best experiences to help others plan similar awesome adventures!

How it Started

Inspired by the incredible book from Reader’s Digest – The Most Scenic Drives in America – 120 Spectacular Road Trips, we set out from Florida in early 2020!

We soon added a second book to our collection, (National Geographic – Guide to Scenic Highways & Byways), and found 300 new roads to explore!

Today, we live a minimalist lifestyle, fueled by a passion for exploring.

We Don’t Blog

When compared to popular social media influencers who jet weekly to exotic new destinations to write fabulous photo journals, our travel life is boring because we love nature and the simple things in life!

Actually, we love our unscripted, private life and the idea of sharing our daily routines in blog posts to the world sounds rather lame! We cannot imagine living life on a blogger schedule – filming everything and posting regularly!

Instead, we live free and write detailed travel guides so others can follow in our footsteps and create viral posts!

Here are a few examples of our work:

Itineraries

Our itineraries help ensure that you do not miss a thing, whether you have 1 day, 2 days, a 3-day weekend, a week, or 2 weeks! For example, we provide itineraries for traveling all 469 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and Virginia.

To help you plan each day, we provide timing information based on personal visits. This is very important because traffic delays, speed limits, terrain challenges, and other factors can ruin even the best tour plans if you are unfamiliar with a place.

Destinations

Sometimes it is not about the journey, but the destination! We provide location information for popular places across America.

For example, we provide detailed pre-cruise information about the departure port cities of Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, and Miami. Where to stay, where to park, how to rent a car, and how to get to and from the Port!

Camping

When traveling in the US, we camp rather than staying in hotels.

For the most part, we prefer camping in the wild rather than in commercial campgrounds. We provide detailed information about free and affordable camping locations across America.

For example, we compiled the ultimate list of free and cheap campsites in Florida, complete with maps, directions, photos, and reviews!

How We Travel

We car-camped for 3 years, traveling in convoy with Eben’s Jeep Cherokee and Melinda’s Subaru Outback!

In late 2022, Melinda acquired a small travel trailer and it’s now our happy home when on the road!
